Program in International Nutrition Seminar
Fall 2006
Thursday’s at 12:20 pm -- Savage 200 unless otherwise noted
Dear Colleagues:
As you all know, as part of the strategic planning exercise the Division of Nutritional Sciences has identified Global Health and Nutrition (GHN) as one of the core areas of excellence. Beyond the issue of new faculty hires, we need to move forward, both within the university and in terms of creating an external identity to create and secure our role in this area. We have many ideas and thoughts on how to achieve the objective of raising Cornell's prominence in the area of global health and nutrition. However, we need your guidance and input in formulating a vision and plan. Therefore, we ask that you reserve the time slot normally allocated to the Program in International Nutrition to engage in discussions as we move forward on developing the Global Health initiative. We expect that after taking time this semester to reflect on the past and formulate new ideas for the GH initiative, that we will begin a seminar series in GH beginning the spring term. In the interim, if there are special needs among PIN students for a field seminar this term that cannot be accommodated on the normal Monday slight, we will do so on Thursday during the traditional time of the PIN seminar.
In the interim, please mark your calendars and join us as we begin our discussion at 12:20 on September 7.
David and Rebecca
