 •New students should  take 12-15 credits in first semester to adjust to demands of Cornell courses.

 •It is the student’s responsibility to understand college and major requirements for graduation.

FALL -- FRESHMAN

•CHEM 206 or 207 (F only)
•BIOG 101/103, 105 or 109  (F only) 
•NS 115 (F only)
•NS 116 (F only, highly recommended)
•First year writing seminar
•CHEM or BIOG support courses as needed
•Other requirement or elective if bio AP credit used or bio postponed (PSYCH 101, ECON 101/102, RSOC 101)
•PSYCH 101 or HD 115 - needed for dietetics

SPRING -- FRESHMAN 

•CHEM 208 (S only)
•BIOG 102/104,106 or 110 (S only)
•First year writing seminar
•Other requirements (social science, humanities, math (BTRY 115) or statistics)
•NS 120 (S only) and/or NS 122 (required for dietetics, S only)
•CHEM or BIOG support courses as needed
•NS 247 (F or S, required for dietetics, or in sophomore yr)
•Food Service Management - required for dietetics

FALL -- SOPHOMORE

•NS 245 (F only, or junior yr)
•NS 345 (F only, need biology & chemistry as prereq.)
•Chem 357 (F only, if biochem focus or premed)
•Chem 251 (F/S, with 357 concurrently, or later)
•Requirements in communications, humanities, social sciences, math or statistics (For dietetics: statistics and PSYCH 101 or HD 115 required)
•Agriculture and life sciences electives (food science, biological sciences, plant sciences, animal science, natural resources, applied economics and management, plant breeding, rural sociology, food policy, communication, education, biological engineering)
•BIOMI 290 (F/S) required for dietetics (may be in junior yr)
•Physics, 101/207 (F only, if biochem, exercise science or premed; may be junior yr)

SPRING -- SOPHOMORE 

•Chem 358 (S only, if have 357) or Chem 257 (S only, if not 357-358)
•Chem 251 (F/ S, or junior yr)
•NS 341 (S only); (need both BIOAP 311 (F only) and NS 341 for exercise science)
•Advanced nutrition electives (e.g., NS 347[alt yrs])
•BIOBM 332 (S only) or BIOMI 290 (F/S), if will take BIOBM 331; may be junior yr)
•NS 120 (S only)
•NS 120 (S only), if desired )

•Food Service Management (H ADM 106, F/S)- required for dietetics

SPRING -- JUNIOR

•NS 331 (S only, need NS320 or BIOBM 330 or 331)
•NS 425 and 450 required for dietetics (all S only)
•BIOBM 332, if took BIOBM 331 or BIOMI 290
•Advanced nutrition electives (e.g., NS 315 [alt yrs], 347 [alt yrs], 421, 425, 450, 457, 475[alt yrs])
•Agriculture and life sciences electives (see above)
•Food Service Management (if dietetics transfer)

FALL -- SENIOR

•NS 332 (F only, prefer NS 331 prior)
•NS 441(F only, need biochem, physiology, and NS 331; required for dietetics)
•NS 442 (F only) (required for dietetics, concurrent with 441)
•Remaining requirements (see above)
•Electives to meet personal or career interests (graduate courses with permission)
