Nutritionally Rich In These Nutrients
A fair source of vitamin C and the mineral potassium. With proper storage vitamin C content is retained for 6 months. Young green onions or the green sprouts from dried onions, are rich in vitamin A.

Available from late summer through the fall, and even winter with proper storage.

Selection Tips
The globe of the onion is round and firm, with a tight skin, which is distinctly yellow, white or red.

Best Way to Store
Storage for several months in a cool, dry, ventilated place. Refrigerate cut onions in airtight container to avoid transfer of flavors to other foods.

How to Prepare
To avoid tears during cutting, cut under running water or chill in refrigerator first. For strong taste of onion, use raw or slightly cooked. If cooked steam, boil, saute, stir-fry, braise, bake, grill or roast.
