The most plentiful berry, there are some seventy varities produced. Available year round, with the peak season from April through July.

Selection Tips
All berries are plump, dry, firm, well shaped, and uniformly a bright red color. The caps are fresh and green.

Best Way to Store
Berries are among the most perishable of fruits. Check for bruised berries. Remove soft, overripe berries and use immediately. Keep berries no longer than two days in a shallow plate and cover with paper towels and plastic wrap to retain moisture.

How to Prepare
Rinse fruit, drain and gently pat until dry. To prevent absorption of water, keep the caps intact until after they are rinsed and drained. Serve whole or remove cap before slicing.
